Andrii S. Stepanov

Soldier Andriy Stepanov was killed in action on May 8, 2022, while performing a service task in the Chernihiv region. He was only 22 years old. Andriy was originally from the city of Ichnia in the Chernihiv region. He stu at secondary school No. 1, and later enrolled in the Nizhyn Vocational College of Culture and Arts named after Maria Zankovetska, choosing the "Folk Choreography" direction. For some time, he worked at the Chernihiv Regional Philharmonic Center for Festivals and Concert Programs and was also a taxi driver in Kyiv. In his free time, he was passionate about football and enjoyed fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense and was later transferred to the Armed Forces. He defended Ukraine as part of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstantin Ostrozhsky. "He was an active, cheerful, talented, kind, bright young man who had already begun to realize his plans in life, inhaling every moment deeply, bringing joy to his loved ones and friends, dreaming, loving..." - they shared about the defender in the Ichnia community. The hero was buried in the city of Ichnia. Andriy is survived by his parents and other relatives.
