Andrii S. Tkach

Soldier Andrii Tkach was killed on February 19, 2023, in battle with the occupiers near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. In January, the fighter turned 22 years old. Andrii was born in the village of Narodychі, Zhytomyr region. He studied at the local school. He obtained the profession of an electric welder at a higher vocational lyceum. He served in the military. He was engaged in sports. He dreamed of traveling. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man moved with his family to the Chernihiv region. Later, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a rifleman-sniper in the 5th separate assault brigade. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended his native country from the occupiers on the front line. "It is difficult to reconcile with this irreparable grief. It is impossible to heal the wounds inflicted by this war. We express our deepest condolences, share the pain of the loss together with the relatives and friends of the deceased. May the memory of the hero live forever in our hearts," said the Narodytska settlement military administration. "Rest in peace, our Hero! Earthly bow to you, child, for our preserved lives!" wrote the deceased's fellow countryman Olena Kydysiuk. The serviceman was buried in the village of Volodkova Divytsia, Chernihiv region. Andrii is survived by his mother and brother.
