Andrii S. Yakunin (As)

Soldier Andriy Yakunin (call sign Ac) was killed on July 29, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region. He was considered missing for about 8 months, but a DNA examination confirmed his death. In October, the defender would have turned 40 years old. Andriy was a native of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Automotive College of Kryvyi Rih National University. He was an electrician-installer by profession. He worked at a local construction company. In his free time, he loved to do sports. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man went to the front to protect his home and loved ones. He served in the 414th separate rifle battalion. He held the position of a rifleman-medic. "He was a loving husband and father who loved his family very much," said the wife of the deceased Svitlana. Andriy was buried in the Honored Burials sector of the Central Cemetery in Kryvyi Rih. At home, the defender was awaited by his wife and daughter.
