- 53-year-old soldier Andriy Foksha (call sign Fox) died on October 7, 2022, while defending the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region. The defender was in a building when an enemy missile hit it. He sustained shrapnel wounds and died under the rubble. Andriy was born and lived in Zaporizhzhia. He completed 9 grades of school. Then he obtained the profession of an auto mechanic at the local vocational school No. 2. For some time he worked in the police, was an employee of the patrol service. But later, due to his love of speed, he chose the profession of a truck driver. His last profession was a security guard. In his free time, he read a lot, collected mushrooms. He was passionate about motorcycle racing and participated in them. On the third day of the full-scale war, on February 26, 2022, the man voluntarily mobilized into the army. He served in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar". He held the position of a BMP mechanic-driver. "My father told me why he went to fight: 'And who, if not me? I have lived my life.' I say: 'Dad, you are still young, you have to live!' The father replied: 'I'm fighting for you, for my native home and for all of us!' Dad was a real man, good, kind, a generous person and a patriot of his Motherland! He was intelligent, experienced, knowledgeable, well-read and purposeful! Dad, you are my hero, my pride and a shining example for me forever. You are the best of the best. You died a hero of Ukraine. You will be in my heart forever. Eternal and bright memory to you! May the Heavenly Kingdom be yours, my angel! I love you!" - wrote the daughter of the fallen. Andriy was buried in the village of Stepne, Zaporizhzhia region. He is survived by his daughter Tetyana, his brother Dmytro with his wife Natalia, nephews Oleksiy, Oleksandr, Vlad, Myroslava, Hlib, his aunt Kateryna, and cousins.
