- 28-year-old senior soldier Andrii Bliashuk was killed in action on March 7, 2022, while defending Kyiv region from Russian occupiers. The defender received a fatal gunshot wound in battle in the area of the village of Dmytrivka. Andrii was from the village of Melnyky-Ritsitski in the Volyn region. He received a profession as a plasterer at the Kamin-Kashirsky higher vocational school. He loved sports, participated in sports competitions in his youth, and recited poetry at literary competitions. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, Andrii joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, the man defended the Fatherland from enemies. "He was an incredible person for everyone who knew him. Very caring and understanding. He was raised as a true patriot, loved Ukraine more than anything. That's why on the morning of February 24, without hesitation, he gathered his things and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces. When asked by his mother, he only replied: 'Who, if not me?'. He was killed in action like a true warrior - in an unequal battle with the enemy," said his sister Diana. "Andriyku, our good, friendly, sincere student, boy with a great and bright soul, I believed until the end that you were alive. Such people cannot die. You, our white Angel from the black days of black Ukrainian turmoil, rose to heaven. And today you descended to your native home with inexpressible black pain. Your native village stands in great alarm - and tears are on its face. Our white Angel in the halo of purity, such a heavy cross you had to bear. We will not forgive. We will not forget. Eternal glory to the Hero! Sincere condolences to the family," wrote Nina Samarchuk. The serviceman was buried in his native village in Volyn. Andrii left behind his parents, wife, and three younger sisters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
