Andrii V. Chaban

Andriy Chaban, a National Guard soldier, was killed on January 13, 2023, during an artillery shelling of positions between the villages of Sporne and Verkhnokamyanske in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 33 years old. Andriy was born in the village of Kordelivka, Vinnytsia region. He stuwas killed there at school. In 2008, he graduated from the Vinnytsia College of the National University of Food Technologies with a degree in "Maintenance of computer and intelligent systems and networks". He served his military service. In 2012, he obtained a basic higher education at the National University of Food Technologies in the field of "Computer Science", and received the qualification of a software engineer. In 2015-2016, he participated in the ATO as a sniper in military unit 3008. After demobilization, he returned home, worked in the IT field, and continued to study various IT technology courses. In 2018, he got married. In recent years, he held the position of Front-end Developer at the Lanet network. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, he returned to the ranks of the National Guard. He took the position of a shooter. Initially, he performed combat, and then counter-sabotage tasks in the Zhytomyr region. In September, he was transferred to the position of a grenade launcher in the 14th Operational Brigade named after Ivan Bohun. From November, he fought in the Bakhmut direction. "He always tried to save the lives of his comrades-in-arms. He carried the wounded off the battlefield, and if he couldn't save their lives, he carried the bodies for an honorable burial. But he bravely continued to defend the country until his last breath. This was my universe that I lost," said the wife of the fallen warrior, Victoria. Andriy was buried in his native village. At home, the defender was awaited by his wife and son, who was 3.5 years old at the time of his father's death.
