Andrii V. Dovhopolyk (Perets)

Soldier Andriy Dovhopolyk (call sign Pepper) died on November 8, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. The warrior was forever 37 years old. Andriy was a native of Kaniv, Cherkasy region. After school, he obtained the profession of an electric welder at the Kaniv Vocational School. He worked at the local electromechanical plant "Magnet". He was passionate about cars. He loved fishing and relaxing in nature. The man was drafted into military service on February 24, 2023. He served in the 118th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a grenadier in the infantry squad of the infantry platoon of the infantry company of the 254th separate battalion. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Bakhmut direction. "He was and remains a Hero of Ukraine for me. It was always easy with him. He understood everything with half a word. He constantly supported his comrades-in-arms and was a leader for them. I and all his loved ones miss him very much..." said the wife of the fallen soldier, Anzhela. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his hometown. At home, Andriy was awaited by his parents, sister, wife, and daughter.
