Andrii V. Filatov

Combat medic Andrii Filatov was killed on June 16, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Novodanilivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Enemy artillery fire cut short the life of the 36-year-old soldier. Andrii was born in Oziorsk (Russia). The following year, the family moved to Slavutych, Kyiv region, where he grew up. He graduated from Slavutych School No. 3. He obtained a higher education. He worked in the electrical shop of VP "ARS" and at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. He participated in the ATO in Donbas. He was married and raised two daughters, whom he adored. He loved spending time with his family. He very much wanted his family to live in a peaceful country. In 2021, he moved with his family to the Rivne region. During the full-scale war, in August 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 1st assault company of military unit A4640. "In the memory of all who knew Andrii Filatov, he will remain a reliable comrade, a fair, reliable friend who was always ready to help. A loving son, brother, husband. We express our condolences to the relatives, loved ones, friends, and comrades of Andrii Filatov. Eternal memory to the Defender. Heroes never die..." - wrote in the Slavutych City Council. "Godfather... I still can't believe it! You are the best godfather of our son! Glory to the Hero of Ukraine," wrote Olena Belska. "Thank you, my friend, for being... You lived with dignity, left with dignity. Honor!" - wrote Yevhen Suvoryi. Andrii was buried in the village of Sopachiv, Rivne region. At home, he was awaited by two daughters, a pregnant wife, relatives, and friends.
