Andrii V. Hnitetskyi (Hostomel)

Lieutenant Andriy Hnitetskyi (call sign Gostomel) was killed on January 9, 2023 in battle with Russian invaders near the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 43 years old. Andriy was born in the settlement of Gostomel, Kyiv region. He graduated from the State Tax University, where he obtained the profession of an accountant and auditor. He was interested in IT technologies. In his free time, he loved to go to the forest for mushrooms. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for his native country in the ranks of the airborne assault troops. He commanded a platoon in the 46th separate airmobile brigade. "You left us too early, no one could save you. You left a deep wound in our hearts, and you will be with us forever. Glory to the Hero," wrote the wife of the fallen Vita. "Andriy was a kind, sensitive person, always the first to come to help. For friends and family, he was a reliable support and support," wrote his friend Kateryna. The officer was buried in his native village. At home, Andriy was awaited by his mother, sister, wife and two children.
