Andrii V. Horiachev

Andriy Vitaliyovych Horyachev was born on March 5, 1980, in the village of Kuryachivka, Markivskyi district, Luhansk region. Since the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, Sergeant Andriy Horyachev was one of the first to meet the enemy in the area of the village of Bilovodsk, Luhansk region. Starting from February 2022, Andriy actively participated in combat operations defending the cities of Kreminna, Rubizhne, and Lyman in the Donetsk region, as well as the adjacent settlements. On May 20, 2022, as a result of enemy artillery shelling of border positions in the area of the city of Lyman, Sergeant Andriy Horyachev sustained severe shrapnel wounds. The serviceman was transported to the 59th military medical hospital in Kramatorsk. On May 21, 2022, despite the desperate efforts of doctors to save his life, the serviceman died from his severe injuries. For his personal courage and selfless actions displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as his loyalty to the military oath, Sergeant Andriy Vitaliyovych Horyachev was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.
