Біографія
Andriy Viktorovych Khomenko was born on December 6, 1997, in the village of Rozkopantsi, Bohuslavskyi district, Kyiv region. Andriy’s older brother is also a combat officer. In 2019, he graduated from the Odessa Military Academy, received his diploma, and his first officer rank — lieutenant. By distribution, he was assigned to the 3rd battalion tactical group, which is subordinate to the 80th Air Assault Brigade. Almost immediately after graduation, he was dispatched to the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). He held the position of commander of the assault landing platoon of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. Near the village of Kozache in Mykolaiv region, Andriy Khomenko's unit destroyed 5 BMP-3 vehicles and one enemy tank. Diligently fulfilling his military and officer duties, the defender repeatedly carried out the evacuation of personnel from the brigade's units and transported wounded soldiers. On March 3, 2022, Andriy received a fatal gunshot wound during the destruction of an enemy landing force in Mykolaiv region and the liberation of the village of Andriichkove in Voznesenskyi district. The warrior commanded his unit until the last moment. In this battle, about 30 occupiers were destroyed. The hero was buried on March 17, 2022, in his native village of Rozkopantsi, Obukhiv district, Kyiv region. For conscientious performance of his official duties, loyalty to the military oath and the Ukrainian people, personal courage, and notable heroic deeds, Andriy Viktorovych Khomenko was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" with the Order of the Golden Star.Місце поховання
