Andriy Vasylovych Khovrenko was born on May 16, 1984, in the village of Vyshneve, Chernihiv Oblast. After graduating from Horodnyansky District Gymnasium in 2001, he was not drafted for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to flat feet, so he went to study at Chernihiv Vocational Technical School No. 5 to become an electric welder. After obtaining his specialty, he worked in his field in Kyiv at the age of 19. Later, he returned home to the city of Horodnia and got a job at a car repair shop. He subsequently worked in construction in Chernihiv. In 2004, he entered Chernihiv Cooperative Technical School and graduated with a law diploma in 2007. In 2006, Andriy got married, and in 2008, the couple had a daughter. Andriy Vasylovych loved life very much. His family was always his top priority, and he had many friends. His favorite activities were fishing and mushroom picking. Andriy Khovrenko also collected antique coins and items. On April 15, 2011, Andriy Vasylovych began his military service under contract in the State Border Guard Service, taking the military oath on April 29, 2011. He served in the border service unit "Dobryanka" of the Chernihiv Border Detachment. In 2015, he volunteered to go to the ATO zone. He received numerous awards. On the morning of February 24, 2022, at the first signals of alarm, he took his combat post. Together with his comrades, he retreated from the border in battle on three armored personnel carriers, losing two vehicles. On that same day, the unit managed to return to Chernihiv. On February 25, 2022, Andriy Khovrenko was again in combat, evacuating the wounded. On February 26, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission on the outskirts of Chernihiv, Staff Sergeant Andriy Khovrenko and his comrades encountered an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group and died from injuries incompatible with life. He is survived by his wife and daughter. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to the military oath, Andriy Vasylovych Khovrenko was posthumously awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine."Місце поховання
