Andrii V. Kolesnik

Paratrooper Andrii Koliesnik died on October 6, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 36 years old. Andrii was from the Mykolaiv region. He graduated from a secondary school in the village of Oleksandrivka. Later, he worked in construction. He spent his free time with his loved ones. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for the Motherland as part of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He held the position of operator of the control section of the headquarters platoon of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division. Together with the unit, he defended the Donetsk region, in particular the Mariinka direction. "Andrii was a good, sensitive, responsible, caring and loving brother. He was always a cheerful, open and decent person," said his sister Diana Hura. The defender was buried in his native Oleksandrivka. Andrii is survived by his parents, daughter and sister. Posthumously, soldier Andrii Koliesnik was awarded the Order of Courage.
