Andrii V. Kozak (Kozak)

Soldier Andriy Kozak (call sign Kozak) died on September 3, 2023. He sustained a fatal head injury in the village of Verbove, Zaporizhia region. Andriy was 41 years old. He was born and lived in Berezne, Rivne region. After school, he obtained the profession of a carpenter at the Sosnivskyi Vocational Lyceum. He worked in his specialty and went on business trips. On February 2, 2023, Andriy was called up for military service. He defended Ukraine in the Zaporizhia direction as part of the 82nd Separate Airmobile Brigade. He held the position of senior rifleman. "He had golden hands - he knew how to do everything, and everything turned out wonderfully. I miss my beloved husband very much. I am proud of him. He is our hero, for me, for the family and for Ukraine," wrote his wife Svitlana. The defender was buried in the cemetery in the tract of Lukavets in Berezne. He is survived by his parents, wife, and two sons. Andriy Kozak was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, Third Degree.
