- Soldier Andrii Lozovytskyi (call sign Loza) was killed on October 15, 2022, in battle with the occupiers during the counteroffensive in the Kherson region. Near the village of Nova Kamianka, the warrior received fatal injuries. He was forever 31 years old. Andrii was born in Sumy. He was a postgraduate student at Sumy State University, wrote a PhD dissertation on international financial law, but did not have time to defend it. He was interested in the international financial system, had an invitation to work at one of the universities in Europe, and was supposed to go there in March 2022. He was fascinated by the history of Ukraine, genealogy, and loved to explore historical events in the context of the personal life history of people. He adored the mountains. On February 24, 2022, the man voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a serviceman of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade. He took the position of an operator and already after two days took part in his first battle. Andrii was a reliable comrade and a responsible fighter who bravely and worthily carried out combat missions. In May 2022, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. "Andrii was a real, very kind, honest, and principled person. He loved life above all else and went to war to protect the lives of others," said the wife of the fallen Iryna. For a long time, the body of the fighter could not be identified. On June 22, 2023, he was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Baranivsky cemetery in his native Sumy.
