- Andriy Ohorodnyk (call sign Ojos), a defender of Mariupol, was killed on April 26, 2022 in the battle for the city. The soldier received a fatal shrapnel wound during an enemy mortar attack. The defender was forever 23 years old. Andriy was born and lived in Kyiv. During his school years, he was passionate about literature, writing, theater, and acting. He read extensively and attended a literary club. In 2018, he graduated from the Kyiv Professional College of Computer Technologies and Economics of the National Aviation University with a degree in "Software Development". He served in the National Guard of Ukraine. Then he worked as a courier at Domino's Pizza. He loved his job, as he always wanted to be useful. He was interested in automotive mechanics and adored animals. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the young man immediately joined the ranks of the volunteers. As part of the TRO "Azov-Kyiv", he participated in the defense of his native Kyiv and the region. On March 25, 2022, he went to defend Mariupol. At that time, Ojos was officially a shooter in the military unit A3449 of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. "A Kyivan who from the first minutes stood up to defend his native city, joining the TRO 'Azov-Kyiv'. In the last days of March 2022, as part of 72 volunteers, he flew to Mariupol to help the occupied Azov garrison," said the mother of the fallen Svitlana. The hero was buried at the Lukyanivske Military Cemetery in Kyiv. Andriy is survived by his parents and brother. Posthumously, soldier Andriy Ohorodnyk was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the medal "Honor. Glory. State". In the autumn of 2023, a mural dedicated to the fallen warrior was created in the capital.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
