- 20-year-old "Azov" member Andrii Prokopchuk (call sign Aladdin) died on August 26, 2023, in the Dnipropetrovsk military hospital. The defender suffered severe shrapnel wounds to the chest in a battle with the enemy on the territory of the Serebryansk forestry near Kreminna in the Luhansk region. Andrii was born in the Donetsk region. After finishing school, he moved to Mariupol. He wrote poems for his own collection, drew, and loved to read. He was passionate about psychology, medicine, philosophy, quantum physics, and enjoyed running. He dreamed of becoming an actor. The young man encountered the full-scale war in Mariupol. After several months of occupation, he was able to leave for Brody in the Lviv region. He enrolled at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where he studied "History and Archeology." However, in February 2023, Andrii decided to go to the front. He joined the ranks of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov." He underwent training and became a combat medic. He participated in battles in the Zaporizhzhia and eastern directions. "Andrii was the best person I was so lucky to meet. He was an incredibly sincere, faithful, kind, and bright person, as confirmed by everyone who has ever spoken to him. Despite all the horror he went through, he never let his light go out and charged people around him with it. People around him seemed to be drawn to him. He always put helping others first and was ready to help at any time. He loved life incredibly and wanted to live incredibly. "People forget very quickly those who have was killed," he told me, but he was wrong. Do not let him be forgotten. Remember him," said Andrii's fiancée Viktoriia Yaremyshyn. The hero was buried in the village of Oleksandrivka in Zakarpattia. The warrior is survived by his parents, brother, sister, fiancée, foster family who took him in after the occupation, friends, and comrades-in-arms. Posthumously, Senior Soldier Andrii Prokopchuk was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
