- Senior Soldier Andrii Sazonov (call sign Sazon, Handsome) was killed on February 13, 2024, as a result of enemy air strikes on the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. The defender was forever 25 years old. Andrii was born in the village of Sokoliv, Zhytomyr region. At the age of 5, he moved with his family to the settlement of Druzhba in the Chernihiv region. There he went to school. He loved football, volleyball, and boxing. He actively participated in the life of the educational institution. No sports competitions took place without him. After school, he studied at the Chernihiv Cooperative College, where he obtained a law degree. In 2016, he signed a contract with military unit A1479 and a few months later went to defend Ukraine in Donbas. He served for 8 months. In December 2020, he signed a contract with the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade and fought for another 9 months. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he continued his service in Konotop in the Sumy region, and then in the Chernihiv region. He defended the Fatherland in Bakhmut. Later, the man was transferred again to the Chernihiv region, then to the Kharkiv region, and later to the Donetsk region. He held the position of machine commander in the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. "Andrii was remembered as an ordinary guy. He was short in stature, but had a fighting spirit. He always smiled. The guy was used to independence from an early age. He was smart and did well in school. He had a keen sense of justice. He never compromised his principles, spoke the truth openly, and generally behaved decently. Andrii is the raw nerve of justice and a true truth-seeker," wrote the guy's first teacher, Natalia Zaiets. "He was very kind, energetic, and active. He adored football and boxing. You could always turn to him for help. The man devoted all his free time to his family, especially our son," said his wife Valeriia. The warrior was buried in the settlement of Druzhba in the Chernihiv region. Andrii is survived by his wife, son, mother, and brother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
