- 28-year-old senior sergeant Andrii Shevchuk (call sign Sheva, Doc, Kat) died on September 21, 2023 in the hospital. On June 16, in the area of the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region, in a battle with the enemy, he sustained serious injuries during an artillery barrage. Doctors fought for his life until the end, but the warrior's heart could not withstand it. Andrii was from the village of Livyntsi, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the Kelmenetskyi Vocational Lyceum. In civilian life, he worked as a sales consultant at Epicentr. He was passionate about music and loved fishing. In 2014-2018, the man participated in the ATO/JFO in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. During the defense of the Luhansk airport, he was wounded. For those battles, he received the Order of Courage, 3rd degree. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he returned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine without hesitation and went back to the front. He served in the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He was a senior combat medic. "He was courageous, brave and strong-willed. He feared nothing. He was always eager to go into battle. He dedicated almost his entire life to military service... He was a loving father and beloved husband," said the widow of the fallen Nataliia. The hero was buried in his native village. The defender left behind his parents, two younger brothers, his wife, and a daughter. Andrii Shevchuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 2nd degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
