- Soldier Andriy Skrypnyk was killed in action on March 29, 2022, in the battle for the city of Popasna in Luhansk region. He sustained fatal injuries during an enemy artillery barrage. The defender was forever 36 years old. Andriy was from the Lviv region. He lived in the city of Drohobych, where he graduated from the local gymnasium. He received his higher education at Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University. He got married. He worked abroad to provide a comfortable life for his family. In 2019, the man decided to defend Ukraine and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract. He became a fighter of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. He carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. He met the full-scale invasion together with his brothers-in-arms in Luhansk region, where he fought his last battle. "Andriy was the only son of his parents and the father of a wonderful daughter. He always felt that he had some unfinished stage in his life. That is why in February 2019, when the war was already going on in the country, he decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was a very important and conscious step in his life. He was proud to help Ukraine restore its territorial integrity. He fought in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He wanted to ensure a happy future for all of us. The war took away a wonderful patriot of his land. He for our peace, so that we could continue to live, create, dream, and raise our children," wrote his wife Maria. The warrior was buried in the city of Drohobych in the Lviv region. At home, Andriy was awaited by his parents, wife, and daughter. Posthumously, soldier Andriy Skrypnyk was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree. A street in the city was renamed in his honor.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
