- Senior soldier Andriy Syrotyuk (call sign Minutochka) was killed on May 22, 2022, near the village of Novosilka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region. While performing a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries during enemy shelling from an armored personnel carrier (APC). The defender was 41 years old. Andriy was born in the city of Sigulda (Latvia). When he was 9 years old, he moved with his family to the city of Haysyn in the Vinnytsia region, where he lived the rest of his life. He graduated from local school No. 3. He worked as a stoker and a police officer in the state protection service. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Before the invasion, he was a driver for the company "Zorya Podillya." Among his favorite hobbies was smoking fish. Shortly before the full-scale Russian invasion, Andriy was contacted by his comrades. On February 19, 2022, he signed a contract with the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk, in which he had previously fought. He served in the grenade launcher section of the anti-tank platoon of the fire support company of the 9th Separate Battalion "Vinnytsia Scythians." "An incredibly bright, kind, and decent person, he had golden hands, a true patriot... Always smiling and friendly. Another angel," is how he is remembered in the Haivoron community. The hero was buried in the city of Haysyn in the Vinnytsia region. Andriy is survived by his father, son, sister, and brother. His mother's heart could not withstand the death of her son, so she was unable to bid him farewell. Posthumously, Andriy Syrotyuk was awarded the Order of Courage III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
