- Sergeant Andriy Sytnyk died on August 29, 2023 in a hospital in Dobropillia, Donetsk region. A day earlier, he sustained severe shrapnel wounds and blast injuries in a battle with Russian invaders near the settlement of Dorozhne in the Donetsk region. Doctors fought for his life, but were unable to save him. On August 9, the warrior would have turned 35 years old. Andriy was born in Dnipro. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Vocational Construction Lyceum. For about 10 years, he worked as a gas cutter in the scrap processing shop of Interpipe Vtormet LLC. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. Among his hobbies was growing grapes. In the garden and near the house, there are 7 bushes that he planted. The whole family enjoyed the berries he grew. He also liked to fish in his free time. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man took up arms again and stood up to defend his Homeland. He fought in the ranks of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the driver of the automotive section of the ammunition supply platoon of the ammunition supply company of the material support battalion. "Andriy was a brave and courageous warrior, faithful to his military oath. Without hesitation, on February 25, 2022, he stood up to defend his Homeland, for which he sacrificed the most valuable thing - his own life. In the memories of his relatives, he will forever remain a true hero, strong and courageous, a caring father, an attentive son and a faithful comrade," said the late's ex-wife Natalia. "Andriy was a true warrior, a reliable colleague and comrade-in-arms. He was devoted to his work, a professional, always ready for new challenges and self-improvement. Open and cheerful, he supported friends and colleagues in word and deed," his colleagues from Interpipe added. The defender was buried in the village of Starovyshnevetske, Dnipropetrovsk region. Andriy is survived by his parents Valeriy Vasylovych and Olena Vasylivna, son Ivan, relatives, close ones, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
