Andrii V. Tykhomirov (Baton)

Soldier Andriy Tykhomirov (call sign Baton) was killed on November 8, 2023 in a battle near the settlement of Kurdyumivka in the Donetsk region. During an enemy mortar attack, he covered his comrades and saved them at the cost of his own life. The warrior was 45 years old. Andriy was a native of Odesa. He obtained two higher education degrees. He graduated from the Odesa National Maritime Academy and the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies. In civilian life, he was an engineer - he designed and built unique refrigeration equipment and installations in Odesa and beyond. Work was his greatest hobby, as it gave him endless satisfaction and inspiration to work further. His last place of work was "UkrAysCompany". During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He held the position of senior rifleman-operator. He received the call sign because he always had energy bars and chocolate bars with him, which he shared with his comrades. "Everything that Andryusha did, he tried to do perfectly, both in civilian life and in the military. He said: 'You know, sunshine, this is where I found myself, here everyone is equal, here everyone is honest, here everything is real...' He did everything so that our son would be proud of him, and dreamed that in the eyes of his son he would always be a Hero... Now our son is doing everything so that his father-Hero would be proud of him, but from heaven..." his wife Natalia said. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Western Cemetery in Odesa. At home, Andriy was awaited by his wife and son.
