- Senior Sergeant Andrii Zaiika died on November 24, 2022 in the hospital from wounds received during a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The defender was 49 years old. Andrii was born in Polonne, Khmilnytskyi region. He studied at local school No. 3. He served his compulsory military service. Then he graduated from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". During his studies, he got married, and after graduation, he moved with his family to the Kyiv region - to the city of Fastiv. He worked as a shop manager at the "Merx" company, and then at the Kyiv company "KRONAS". In the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was a communications section commander. "I was honored to work and celebrate with you. Thank you for the protection! Rest in peace. We will take revenge!" wrote colleague Volodymyr Rasakhatskyy. "Eternal memory to Andrii! A good person, a loving father and husband. Very sad... A true hero of Ukraine! May the Heavenly Kingdom be yours!" wrote acquaintance Natalia Sviatnenko. "Bright memory to Andrii. Condolences to the family. I had the honor of serving with him. He was a good person and comrade," wrote fellow soldier Oleksandr Cheberyak. "It's impossible to believe! A good neighbor, a wonderful father and husband. Sincere condolences to the family. There are no words to convey the pain of the loss," wrote neighbor Myla Orlova. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the International Cemetery in Fastiv. Andrii is survived by his wife, son and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
