- Paratrooper Andriy Horbunov died on November 20, 2023 near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. He took the blow of the enemy's FPV drone, saving the lives of his comrades, but he received injuries incompatible with life. The defender was forever 23 years old. Andriy was a native of Zhmerynka, Vinnytsia region. In 2017, he graduated from Zhmerynka Lyceum No. 4. His love for cooking helped him choose his future profession: together with his brother Anatoliy, he graduated from the Vinnytsia Vocational College and obtained the specialty of a cook. Later, he worked in various cafes and restaurants in Vinnytsia. On January 11, 2023, the young man received a summons and later joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became an operator of the fire support company of the 80th separate air assault brigade. Together with his comrades, he liberated temporarily occupied territories in the Zaporizhzhia direction. On October 13, for his dedicated service and defense of the Motherland, Andriy received the medal "To the Unbreakable Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War". Anatoliy was constantly in touch with his brother, and when the latter did not give news about himself for a long time, he could not find a place for himself. Three months later, he decided to leave the culinary field and take up arms to be next to Andriy. He went as a volunteer to the military enlistment office. He also chose the airborne assault troops, but ended up in the 148th separate artillery brigade. The brothers managed to meet at the front line several times, they sincerely rejoiced that they could be together in this way. However, it did not last long. Andriy was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Zhmerynka Central Cemetery. Andriy Horbunov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
