- 36-year-old senior sergeant Andriy Kusovskyi (call sign Tourist) was killed on May 18, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region. An anti-tank guided missile struck the combat vehicle of the Ukrainian defenders near the village of Volodymyrivka, not far from Bakhmut. Andriy was from the city of Shostka in the Sumy region. He stu at the local school No. 8. After graduating from college, he specialized as a mechanic. Later, he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the Shostka Institute of Sumy State University. He worked at one of the leading local enterprises and also in a computer technology store. He was passionate about tourism, traveling around his homeland, fishing, and spending time in nature. He dreamed of building a cozy house with his own hands. In 2014, he volunteered for the war. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). During his service, he was repeatedly awarded honors. During the full-scale war, Tourist defended Ukraine as part of the 13th Battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi. He was the chief sergeant of the company. "A bright, honest, conscientious person. He did his job, inspired by his example, was a true friend, a warrior, a hero," said the defender's wife, Natalia. The serviceman was buried at the Alley of Glory in his hometown of Shostka. Andriy is survived by his parents and wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
