Andrii Z. Rabii (Khasan)

Soldier Andriy Rabiy (call sign Khasan) was killed on August 24, 2023 in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Novoyehorivka in the Luhansk region. Two months earlier, on June 21, the defender turned 33 years old. Andriy was born in the village of Khorosnytsya, Lviv region. He graduated from the Lviv Technical School of Railway Transport and the Dnipropetrovsk University of Railway Transport. He worked as a controller-cashier at the Lviv railway station. He was passionate about beekeeping, fishing, cars, and agriculture. During the full-scale war, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of rifleman in the 420th separate rifle battalion. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Bakhmut direction, and then the Kupiansk-Svatove direction. "A hero, of whom there are few, he was where many are afraid to be..." - said the wife of the fallen Mariana. "There is no forgiveness for this war... A bitter loss... The pain of sorrow and grief tears our hearts, and there is no medicine or healing from this pain... I kneel down, bow my head in mourning and sincerely thank you, dear nephew, for your courage and bravery, for the protection of your native land. Only a good and bright memory will remain in my memory. Sleep peacefully, Hero. Eternal memory... Blessed repose..." - wrote his aunt Oksana Rabiy. The defender was buried in the village of Arlamivska Volya in the Lviv region. At home, Andriy was awaited by his wife, children, and loving family.
