- Senior soldier Anton Dovhopol (call sign Tosha) was killed on January 19, 2023, during an enemy offensive and artillery shelling of the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the village of Novobakhmutivka in the Donetsk region. He met his death with a weapon in his hands - he fired an RPG at an enemy tank. The defender was 36 years old. Anton was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. He worked as an estimator. The man went to fight on the first day of the full-scale invasion, February 24, 2022. Together with his father, they first joined the local territorial defense and defended the capital. In April, Anton became a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 45th separate rifle battalion. "Anton gave his life, full of dreams and plans, for the Victory of Ukraine. On February 24, they with his father stood at the military enlistment office to sign up for the Territorial Defense Forces and receive weapons. They also poured Molotov cocktails and prepared to defend the city. They formed a Territorial Defense Forces position in their area, set up a checkpoint, and set it up. They were ready for any developments to not let the enemy through to Kyiv. In March, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to push the enemy troops away from Kyiv. In April, Anton went to the military enlistment office and enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said: 'I have to do this so that my family can live in peace on their land. That's what every real man should do.' He was very stubborn and brave. And also fair, with a deep sense of male honor. Anton always smiled. No matter how difficult and hard it was. No matter how strong the shelling and the enemy's anger. In peaceful life and in war, he always found the strength for a sincere smile," the wife of the fallen said. The defender was buried at the Pyrohiv Cemetery in Kyiv. Anton is survived by his father Andriy, mother Tamara, wife Svitlana, and daughter Alisa, who was 6 years old at the time of her father's death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
