- Soldier Anton Gavrylov was killed in action on June 17, 2022, in Donbass. He did not live to see his 34th birthday by 4 days. The serviceman was born in Simferopol, Crimea, but moved to Lviv as a child. He graduated from a local technical school and specialized in car repair. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, he went to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine without hesitation. He joined the 80th Separate Assault Brigade. He took part in the ATO. After demobilization, he worked as an operator at a gas station in Lviv. From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, he returned to his native 80th brigade to defend Ukraine again. "Cursed war takes the best... Young, smart, brave, and extremely kind. I don't want to believe the words that my fingers are chaotically writing now, my mind and heart refuse to believe it. Our friend, a Person with a capital letter, Anton Gavrylov, who defended our motherland since 2014, is no more. I haven't met a kinder person. He went to war, like all other heroes, with the words: 'Who, if not us?'", wrote his friend Galia Polishchuk on social media. "He was a very sincere, good person. He had many friends, he was highly respected. A person who loved life. He loved the Carpathians, the sea, his family. His comrades spoke well of him. A few days before his death, he was nominated for an award. I was generally surprised how he, with his kind heart and soul, ended up there, in that hell. He never told me what was happening there. But two days before his death, he sent a video from there for the first time. He says: 'Anya, I can't take it anymore. I'm very exhausted. I want to be pulled out for at least 10 days, I want to see my child.' He spent 117 days there without rest", said his wife Anna. The defender was buried in Lviv at the Lychakiv Cemetery. Anton left behind a wife and a small son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
