Anton H. Ihnatchenko

Born on September 14, 1995, in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2013, he graduated from general education school No. 110 in Kryvyi Rih. He spent 8 years in the choreographic group "Zhart" at the culture house of the Northern Mining and Processing Plant. After finishing school, he applied to the law faculty of a higher educational institution, but he did not have enough points. Since 2013, he served under contract as a mechanic-driver in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (A1126, the urban-type settlement of Hvardiyske, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region). From the spring of 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. On June 13, 2014, a reconnaissance group, which included soldier Ihnatchenko, was carrying out a combat mission to clear the area of the enemy and locate the position of the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system in the resort area on the outskirts of Sloviansk, Donetsk region. On the first attempt, the unit fell into an ambush set by terrorists. After exhausting their entire ammunition supply and then replenishing it in the unit, the group returned there a second time. The unit was fired upon from three sides. During the battle, soldier Ihnatchenko discovered an enemy crew operating an automatic grenade launcher. With a precise shot from a hand grenade launcher, he destroyed the enemy's firing point. However, the terrorists spotted soldier Ihnatchenko and in response fired a grenade that exploded near him. He was killed instantly - a fragment hit his head. According to other sources, soldier Ihnatchenko was killed by a sniper's shot to the head. Through his decisive and competent actions, soldier Ihnatchenko saved the lives of his comrades-in-arms. On June 17, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the "Northern Mining and Processing Plant" in Kryvyi Rih.
