Anton I. Pushkar

37-year-old Junior Sergeant Anton Pushkar was killed on January 26, 2023 near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. While moving to fire positions, the soldier came under enemy fire. Anton was born in the village of Mala Danylivka, Kharkiv region. He graduated from the Kharkiv State Zoovetinary Academy. He worked as a veterinarian in Kharkiv. He fought in the ATO in Donbas. In 2017, he was awarded the medal "For Courage and Honor". With the start of the full-scale war, the man again took up the defense of his native country. Initially, he was in the ranks of the Kharkiv territorial defense, and later became a fighter of the National Guard. He served in the operational battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, Major General Serhiy Kulchytskyi. In April 2022, he was awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine". "Anton was a very religious person, but refused the monastery with the words: 'Perhaps something else is destined for me.' As it is written, 'the one who has given his life for his brother will have the greatest reward in Heaven.' Glory to the Warrior of the Heavenly Forces of Ukraine three times!" - said the brother of the fallen Taras. The defender was buried in his native village. Anton is survived by his father Igor and brother Taras.
