Anton Yu. Hrytsai (Sif)

Graduated from the Faculty of History of the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Korolenko. He was an active participant in the informal movement of fans of the Poltava football club "Vorskla" (he was part of the ultras group "COGE"). He participated in the events of the Revolution of Dignity as part of the Poltava self-defense. He was one of the authors of the graffiti memorial to the Heavenly Hundred, located near the Poltava State Agrarian Academy. In September 2014, he voluntarily joined the patrol police special forces regiment "Azov" of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv Oblast (since November 2014 - the separate special forces unit "Azov" of the Southern Operational Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine). The warrior was commemorated on February 18 at the Holy Assumption Cathedral. ₴Y. Lohvynenko, journalist of the ODTK "Lutava": "For Anton, the main thing was that his mother would never cry… He did not have time to start a family and build a house in the forest near Poltava, where he loved to walk with his beloved Ksyusha and loyal friends. A patriot, a wonderful fighter and organizer, he knew and respected the history of his native land, a fan of his beloved Ukraine and "Vorskla," honest and kind, open and initiative, straightforward and cheerful, a stylish and handsome guy. On May 7, he would have turned 28 years old. A fighter of the "Azov" regiment. He died the day after Valentine's Day in 2015. He will forever remain in love with his native land and will cheer for it and protect his loved ones. Already from the heavens. Anton Hrytsai (Sif), thank you for everything! Light to your soul, friend!". ₴Anton's memory was honored with a moment of silence at his favorite stadium on March 8, 2015, during the match of the 16th round of the Ukrainian Football Championship. That day, the players of FC "Vorskla" took to the field in black jerseys with the inscription "Anton (Sif) Hrytsai," and his friends unfurled a banner with Anton's portrait in the stands. ₴Armen Dalkku, defender and captain of FC "Vorskla": "It was a very unpleasant moment when we were told that he had died. To honor his memory, we took this small step to support his family - we wore these jerseys.
