Artem A. Dehtiarenko

40-year-old soldier Artem Dehtiarenko (call sign Diohotj) died on December 20, 2022 in a hospital in Dnipro. Four days earlier, he sustained severe shrapnel wounds while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Pivnichne in Donetsk region. The defender never regained consciousness. Artem was born in Kyiv. He graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with a degree in "Jurisprudence". He worked in the economic security departments of leading banks. In 2015-2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Then he held the position of head of financial, economic and information security in a financial company. With the start of the full-scale war, the man returned to the army and again took up the defense of his country from the Russian invaders. He was a scout in the 101st separate brigade of the General Staff's protection named after Colonel-General Hennadiy Vorobyov. "He was sensitive, friendly and fair, always came to help. He loved life and his loved ones," said the deceased's sister Marina. Artem was buried at the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. He is survived by his parents, sister and son. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
