Artem A. Sautin (Smailyk)

Sergeant Artem Sautin (call sign Smiley) was killed on October 7, 2023, during an artillery shelling near the village of Kamyanske in the Zaporizhia region. He was forever 23 years old. Artem was born in the village of Kompaniyivka in the Kirovohrad region. He graduated from Vocational School No. 32 in the city of Bobrynets. A few months after his studies, he enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract and served in military unit A1556 in the city of Mukachevo. During the full-scale invasion, he defended the country in the ranks of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He held the position of commander of a motorized infantry squad. "He is a hero who did not deserve such an early death. The best son in the world, and I am proud of him!" - wrote his mother Albina. The warrior was buried in his native village. He is survived by his mother, sister, wife, and daughter.
