Artem E. Kravchenko (Kazhan)

Soldier Artem Kravchenko (call sign Bat) was killed on March 9, 2023 in battle with Russian invaders near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Three days before this, the defender turned 33 years old. Artem was born in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region. Since the age of 16, he lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. He worked as a foreman at "Kyivmiskbud". He loved fishing, computer games and traveling with his family. During the full-scale war, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a sniper in the 77th separate airmobile brigade. "My husband was killed in Bakhmut on March 9, 2023. On the 15th day of being there, on March 6, he turned 33 years old. On March 8, we last communicated, he was in a good mood. He warned that he would be on a mission and would have no contact for 3-4 days. Every day I sent him a heart and wrote that I love him. But there were no answers. On the 5th day, they came from the military commissariat and handed over the notification that Artem had was killed. From the commanders, we learned that Artem's unit went to the positions, and there was an ambush. He managed to warn and gave the command to retreat. Artem was carrying a wounded comrade on himself. While escaping the encirclement, he ran into a mine. Everyone else remained alive, and Artem was killed. He saved the lives of many. He was killed as a hero. My beloved husband is the most beautiful, most intelligent, most generous person in the world. He knew how to do everything. He loved life, his family and Ukraine very much," the warrior's wife said. Artem was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery in Kyiv. At home, his parents, sister, wife and son were waiting for him.
