Artem I. Halkevych

Artem Ihorovych Halkevych was born on July 11, 1990, in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. From May 2011 to May 2012, Artem served in military unit 3057, holding the positions of shooter, sniper, and senior shooter. In 2014, he graduated from the Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O. Didorenko. He began his service in the National Police in 2016 as a police officer in the patrol police battalion of the Main Department of the National Police in Donetsk region. From October 8, 2018, he held the position of lecturer in the cycle of special disciplines at the Mariupol Center for Primary Vocational Training "Police Academy" of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. He was married and raised a son. Artem Halkevych was a gifted and creative person. He was passionate about poetry and had a talent for recitation. He participated in organizing events for the unity of Ukraine and in volunteer work to support the Ukrainian military. He selflessly defended his hometown and university, was a patriot of our state, believed in victory, freedom, independence, and fought fearlessly for them. He was known as a kind, caring, and sincere person. On February 24, 2022, he remained in Mariupol to serve. At the time of the enemy attack, he was in the premises of the Mariupol Center for Primary Vocational Training "Police Academy" of DonDUVS. On March 12, 2022, he heroically died in Mariupol while on duty.
