- Soldier Artem Khan died on April 30, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Dibrova in the Donetsk region. On April 6, he turned 21 years old. Artem was born in the village of Sebine, Mykolaiv region. From an early age, he was passionate about martial arts. He practiced boxing and mixed martial arts. He was a student at the Mykolaiv Specialized Children and Youth School of the Olympic Reserve No. 6. He became the junior boxing champion of Ukraine and received the title of Candidate Master of Sports. He also engaged in MMA and hand-to-hand combat. He obtained his higher education at the Mykolaiv National University of Shipbuilding. At the age of 19, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, signing a contract. He served in the ranks of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, holding the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant. "Artem was a bright, kind person, had many friends, and always treated adults with respect. He was strong and cheerful, dreamed of a career in sports, which he loved very much. I remember he told me: 'Mom, I won't give up sports, it's my life.' At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Artem had already been in the combat zone for a year, but he never told me that he was directly involved in the fighting. At the end of February 2022, he was supposed to return on rotation, even prepared his personal belongings, but the full-scale war began... Artem tried to write or call every day to let us know about himself. He last made contact on April 29, 2022, and on April 30, 2022, I was informed that Artem did not return from the combat mission. For one year and nine months, we searched, waited, prayed, and believed that he was alive. But on December 8, 2023, the DNA match confirmation came..." - said the defender's mother, Anna Vasylivna. In January 2024, the hero was laid to rest in his native village. At home, his parents were waiting for him. The paratrooper was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
