Artem M. Kortkhondzhiia (Hredi)

Sergeant Artem Kortkhondzhiya (call sign Grady) was killed on April 18, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior was only 24 years old. Artem was born in the city of Dolynska, Kirovohrad region. After finishing school, he studied to become a gas welder at the Kryvyi Rih vocational school. In his free time, he was engaged in sports. He loved to joke and actively spend his free time. Before the invasion, he worked in Odesa. When the full-scale war began, the young man without hesitation decided to go to the front. Later, he became a fighter of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". He held the position of a medical instructor. He was awarded the "Golden Cross" and "Oak Leaf Branch" decorations. "My brother was the best. There are none and never will be like him. He was and is a true Hero. He was calm, decent, well-mannered, physically developed, capable of achieving his goal, and able to perform tasks qualitatively. He always worked to improve his professional level, saving the lives of his comrades," said Anastasia Kortkhondzhiya. Artem was buried in his hometown. He is survived by his parents and younger sister.
