Artem O. Masaliutin

Soldier Artem Masalyutin (call sign Alex) died on February 11, 2024 near the village of Bohdanivka in the Donetsk region. In the battle with the occupiers, he received fatal shrapnel wounds. The defender was forever 30 years old. Artem was born in the city of Beryslav, Kherson region. After school, he graduated from the Novokakhovsk Vocational Electrical Engineering Lyceum, where he obtained the profession of an electrician. He lived in Kyiv. He worked as a waiter, a bricklayer-stove maker, and a carrier. During the full-scale Russian invasion, in March 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 214th separate assault battalion "OPFOR". He held the position of senior rifleman - operator of the mechanized unit. In 2023, he received the award "Golden Cross". "Courageous, brave, reliable, sincere, valiant, determined, purposeful," - this is how his cousin Lyudmyla Vanina described the fallen. Artem was buried at the Smolyansky military cemetery in the city of Zhytomyr. The warrior is survived by his mother, brother, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
