Artem O. Prytyka

Senior Lieutenant Artem Prytyka was killed on October 5, 2023, on the territory of the Serebryansk forestry, in the Kreminna district of the Luhansk region. While performing a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. The officer was forever 22 years old. Artem was from the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. From a young age, he decided to become a serviceman and confidently pursued his goal. After completing secondary education, he entered the Faculty of Radio Engineering Troops of the Air Defense of the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force. When the full-scale war began, the young man was studying in his 4th year, but he took up the defense of the Motherland. A metrologist engineer by profession, he could have served in the rear, but he believed that he was capable of more, so he first transferred to the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at his own request, and later voluntarily joined the National Guard of Ukraine. He took the position of platoon commander of the communications unit in the 12th Special Forces Brigade "Azov". "Senior Lieutenant Artem Prytyka consciously chose the path of a defender and went by the call of his heart to the front line, to the most dangerous tasks, he dreamed above all of victory over the invader, of a free and flourishing Ukraine. In his short (just 22 years) life, Artem Prytyka proved himself as a courageous and brave warrior, as a person who has great respect and love for his native land, he sacrificed his life for the preservation of the peaceful and safe existence of his compatriots," wrote the deceased's loved ones. The young officer was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Sukhyi Yar cemetery in his hometown. At home, his parents were waiting for Artem.
