Artem P. Shliakhtych

Lieutenant Artem Shlyakhtych was killed on January 18, 2023, in battle with the occupiers near the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The officer was 25 years old. Artem was born in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. From a young age, he chose the path of a military man, so he entered the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny in Lviv. He graduated ahead of schedule and has been participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2015. He fought in the ATO / JFO in Donbas. Outside the military, he was interested in chemistry and wanted to get a second education related to this science. But he didn't have time. During the full-scale war, Artem fought against the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 17th Separate Tank Brigade named after Kostiantyn Pestushko. He was a company commander and was constantly at the forefront with his unit. "Artem was a very positive, joyful guy who loved life above all else. He had a lot of plans for the future, and even more plans after the war. I had the impression that he wanted to embrace everything in his life, and was most concerned about other people. He was very worried about his comrades-in-arms, and cared for his guys in the company," said the officer's mother, Natalia. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the "Vsebratske" cemetery in his native Kryvyi Rih. Artem is survived by his parents, wife, and son.
