- Senior soldier Artem Stepanishyn (call sign Archie) was killed on November 6, 2022 in the hospital. Four days earlier, during the performance of a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, he sustained serious injuries. The fighter was 35 years old. Artem was born in the village of Oleshyn, Khmilnytskyi region. He studied at the Khmilnytskyi Institute of Social Technologies of the University of Ukraine. For the last four years, he lived in Warsaw, where he worked in a printing house. He was passionate about tourism and loved to hike in the mountains. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man returned to Ukraine to defend it. He fought as part of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. "In the first days of the war, Artem returned from Poland and went as a volunteer to defend Ukraine. He was about to get married for the second time, but he was not given leave. They planned with the bride to definitely adopt a child who lost their parents in the war. At his own expense, he bought a car to the front, managed to drive it for less than a month. Comrades-in-arms call the car the 'Archiemobile,'" said the deceased's sister Svitlana. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in his native village. Artem is survived by his parents, daughter, beloved, relatives and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
