Artem V. Stakhmych (Kum)

Senior soldier Artem Stakhmych (call sign Kum) was killed on January 24, 2023 during the assault on enemy positions in the area of the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. As a result of the tank shelling by the occupiers, he received a fatal wound. The warrior was 39 years old. Artem was born in the city of Myrnohrad, Donetsk region. He graduated from the Selidovo Polytechnic College. He worked as a mining foreman at the Kapitalna mine. He was married and raised two sons, whom he loved very much and wanted to teach them everything he knew himself. For the sake of the peaceful future of his family and the country, during the full-scale war, Artem volunteered to go to the front. The man joined the 109th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a rifleman. "My husband was a good, kind and brave person. He defended our land until his last breath. We all miss him very much..." said Anastasia Stakhmych. Artem was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Ozerka cemetery in his hometown. At home, his wife and two sons were waiting for him.
