Biography
Sobchenko Artem Yuriyovych was born on February 17, 1992, in the village of Dmytrivka in the Mykolaiv region. During his school years, he twice participated in the Ukrainian championship in military-sports heptathlon and won the team cross-country race. He received the 1st rank in military-sports multi-events. After finishing school, he obtained the profession of an electrician in one of the Mykolaiv lyceums. After graduation, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was demobilized with the rank of junior sergeant. In 2014, he voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine, participated in the ATO in the East of the country, in particular in the battles near the village of Vodiane and the city of Mariupol. After demobilization, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and returned to the East of the country. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he voluntarily joined the defense of the country as part of the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade, fought near Kherson and Mariupol. Later, he completed courses and became a combat medic, saving wounded soldiers near Mariinka and Bakhmut. Near Soledar, in one of the heavy battles, he managed to pull 15 wounded comrades from under the rubble, and he himself, with injuries, ended up in the hospital. He was killed on March 1, 2023, during an enemy artillery attack near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He is buried in the village of Yelyzavetivka, Mykolaiv district, Mykolaiv region. He is survived by his parents, brother, son, and relatives.Burial place
