- 29-year-old Junior Sergeant Artur Galstyan (call sign Coach) was killed on January 24, 2024 in the area of the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the warrior received fatal wounds. Artur was born in the city of Obukhiv, Kyiv region. From an early age, he was passionate about sports, so he quickly determined his future profession. He obtained a higher education at the National University of Physical Education and Sports. He worked as a coach at the Deltaplan fitness club. He trained and hardened the youth. He practiced boxing and football. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, together with his father, he volunteered for the front and stood up to defend his hometown. Artur held the position of platoon commander in the 114th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his military service, he received the medal "We will defend our home. We will defend Ukraine," the awards "For the Defense of Ukraine" and "War Veteran." "Artur was a very honest, kind, and courageous person. Artur dedicated his entire peaceful life to sports! It was during the war that he realized what he had been preparing himself for all his life. Hardened, strong, courageous, honest, he stood up to defend our state! He maintained his physical fitness and engaged in sports even during his military service, training his comrades-in-arms. The combat skills gained through sports helped on the battlefield. His strength and thirst for victory inspired the fighting spirit of all his comrades-in-arms! He repeatedly saved the lives of servicemen! A bright person, the flower of the nation, an example for the youth and the future generation!" - said Daryna Varbaniets, his godmother. "Relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms remember him as a very decent, devoted and benevolent person. He was always ready to support and help. Artur's energy and joie de vivre inspired everyone around him. The young, energetic guy gave his life for our independence. His loss is an unspeakable pain for his relatives and loved ones. May the bright memory of Artur, a devoted son, warrior and patriot, forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him," the university he graduated from noted. The hero was buried in the Polok cemetery in his native Obukhiv. Artur is survived by his parents Eduard Agabekovich and Olesya Oleksandrivna, other relatives, close friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
