Artur V. Sachenko

Artillerist Artur Sachenko was killed on April 18, 2022, while defending the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region from the occupiers. The warrior was 37 years old. Artur was from the city of Zaporizhzhia. He graduated from the Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy. He worked as a process engineer at Metinvest-Promservis LLC. He was a jack-of-all-trades: he repaired everything in the apartment, did the electrical work, and fixed the car. He was passionate about aquaristics and fishing. After February 24, 2022, the man defended his country as part of the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade "Zaporizhia Sich". He held the position of a gun crew member in the artillery battalion. "He was able to make decisions with a cool head in stressful situations. He was a generator of new ideas: he turned a simple thing into a highly functional device that he designed himself," his wife Kateryna said about the deceased. The warrior was buried in his hometown. At home, Artur was awaited by his wife and daughter. Posthumously, soldier Artur Sachenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
