Astamur D. Humba (Abkhaz)

Astamur Gumba was born on July 22, 1989 in Sukhumi. According to his mother Natalia Ishchenko, this happened under gunfire during the curfew. The beginning of the war in Abkhazia in 1992 found Astamur in a kindergarten, from where his mother took him. A few weeks after the start of hostilities, the family left for Kyiv, Astamur was 3 years old. He graduated from Kyiv School No. 78, later - the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, obtained a degree in political science. He worked in the fields of consulting and IT. He participated in volunteer projects, in particular, he took care of children with cancer in the Okhmatdyt hospital. He moved to live in the Balkans, continued his studies at the University of Montenegro. On February 24, 2022, he volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although he did not have Ukrainian citizenship. He died on June 28, 2022 in the village of Dementievka, Kharkiv region. It was officially reported to his parents that Astamur's position stopped the advance on Kharkiv. According to his mother, all the military from that position were killed on the spot or later died of their wounds. He was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery in Kyiv.
