Bohdan A. Sahun (Hun)

25-year-old lieutenant Bohdan Sahun (call sign Gun) was killed in action on June 26, 2022, near Lysychansk in Luhansk region during an enemy shelling with cluster shells. As a commander, he ran into the shelter last, and this turned out to be fatal for his life. Bohdan was born in Kyiv in a family of a military serviceman. He graduated from the historical faculty of the National Pedagogical University named after M.P. Dragomanov. He dreamed of being a journalist. He also graduated from the department of military political science of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He worked as a videographer. He was involved in sports. He loved Kyiv and history. He was a member of the fan club of FC Dynamo Kyiv. He had been going on trips with the club since school. In 2014, he traveled to rallies in support of the unity of football clubs. On the second day of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, Bohdan joined the 111th separate brigade of territorial defense as a volunteer. Initially, he took part in the defense of Kyiv. In April, with the rank of lieutenant, Bohdan Gun headed the mortar platoon and went to the front line to defend Luhansk region. "The words 'Honor and Dignity' are about my Bohdan. Responsible, decent. He had many true friends. He loved life. Football, concerts. He took care of and worried about his relatives," said his mother Olexandra Sahun. "I can't express words of hatred anymore. Silence says more. Bohdan Sahun, another graduate of the history faculty, another social scientist. He was only 25! Commander of a mortar platoon, patriot, conscious... I remember him always smiling, with dimples on his cheeks. Together, we implemented educational projects, wrote a diploma paper on media and propaganda issues," wrote teacher Tetiana Meleshko. Bohdan Gun was buried at the Lisovyi cemetery in Kyiv. The warrior was left with his grandmother and parents.
