Bohdan A. Skakunov

Soldier Bohdan Skakunov was killed on March 21, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Komisarove in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 25 years old. Bohdan was born in the village of Khalymonovo, Chernihiv region. He graduated from the local school. He was then drafted into the regular military service, during which he realized that he wanted to remain in the army. Therefore, he later signed a contract with the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2021, he resigned - he decided to take a little rest. However, the full-scale war began the following year. In the spring of 2022, Bohdan was mobilized into the 3rd Separate Tank Iron Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of a medical orderly. "How sorry I am for Bohdan, such a nimble, calm, and polite guy! May he rest in peace... My condolences to the family," wrote his fellow villager Tetyana Chernykh. "Glory and eternal memory to the Hero of the Heavenly Army! Deep condolences to the family, loved ones and comrades-in-arms. Heroes never die!" - noted in the Bakhmach City Council. The defender was buried in his native village. Bohdan is survived by his parents.
