Bohdan B. Kruchak

Senior soldier Bohdan Kruchak was killed on January 14, 2023 in the battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery fire cut short the life of the 25-year-old defender. Bohdan was born in the village of Dolynany, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas with a degree in "Mining". He served his military service. He dreamed of his own home and family. However, the full-scale war did not allow Bohdan's plans and dreams to come true. In July 2022, he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, holding the position of senior grenade launcher section commander. He defended Ukraine from the invaders and above all dreamed of returning home as soon as possible to carry out his plans. "My only brother was and will forever remain a Hero, a worthy son of his state, a real man who honorably fulfilled his duty. In 2020-2021 he served in the army. On July 25, 2022, he received a summons and without hesitation stood up to defend Ukraine. He was genuine in everything, the best son of his parents, their pride and support. He was a friend to me and my family. I was always proud of him, he had all the best human qualities. The pain of our loss cannot be described in words. Bohdan was the best godfather for my daughter Alinka, who misses him very much. She is still so small, and the war has taken so much from her... Forever in our hearts. Heroes do not die!" - said the sister of the fallen Zoryana. "He was the best support, support and joy in my life," added his friend Anzhelika. Bohdan was buried in his native village. At home, he was awaited by his mother Kateryna, father Bohdan, sister Zoryana with her husband Bohdan, and nephews Alina and Andriy.
